M’akola Development Services completed the initial feasibility analysis for this partnership project – a 41 bachelor unit supportive housing development. Nanaimo Affordable Housing Society acts as the lead Proponent, Society Developer and Property Manager, the Vancouver Island Mental Health Society acts as the Service and Programming provider and the Haven Society provides referral and programming support, as well as capacity and resources to tenants, where necessary and beneficial.
The management philosophy for this project is operationalized through a partnership between Nanaimo Affordable Housing Society and Vancouver Island Mental Health Society. Each partner agency provides distinct but complementary activities to the project and the intended tenants. The funding partners are the City of Nanaimo (land) and BC Housing (MOU).
