Cellina is eager to cultivate communities that are socially, environmentally, and financially sustainable. After growing up in a low-income neighbourhood and observing the importance of affordable housing to quality of life, she hopes to help foster healthy and sustainable communities and lifestyles through her work at M’akola Development Services.
Cellina holds a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning (2019) and a Bachelor of Science in Biological and Environmental Sciences (2016) from the University of Alberta. She has had the opportunity to support research that explored how planners can help communities prepare for climate change impacts through adaptation planning policy as a member of the Climate Adaptation and Resilience Lab at the University of Alberta’s School of Urban and Regional Planning (2017-2020).
Cellina has also had the privilege of carrying out research for the Métis National Committee with the Métis Archival Project Lab, interning as a Sustainability Scholar for the City of Edmonton, and assisting with decisions regarding community development as a Director for her previous community league.
