Kari Jacques, MCP

Kari is a planner with more than two years of experience in the development sector. She has been involved in the progression of over 300 market housing units throughout the Greater Victoria Region. She has experience in land-use planning, rezoning and development approvals, policy analysis, and proforma management.

Kari is passionate about creating safe, inclusive, and meaningful spaces for people. She hopes to provide communities across British Columbia with housing forms that prioritize affordability, well-being, accessibility, inclusivity and equity through her work at M’akola Development Services.

Kari also holds a Master of Community Planning (2022) from Vancouver Island University and a Bachelor of Health Sciences (2018) from the University of Northern British Columbia. She completed an in-depth analysis of an ecofeminist approach to climate change action planning to address the social inequities that arise from the changing climate. Her analysis guided the development of an ecofeminist framework that can be utilized for future policy development.
