M’akola Development Services is supporting Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society and M’akola Housing Society to develop new affordable rental homes for families, seniors and Indigenous peoples living in Port Moody. Located at 300 Angela Drive in Port Moody, The Creek is the first phase of a larger multi-phase, 23-acre development called Portwood. This development features three six-storey apartment buildings offering 328 affordable housing units with a mix of one- two- and three-bedroom homes. 66 of these homes will be fully accessible, and 166 will be adaptable for future accessibility needs.

  • Building A: 107 units operated by Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society 
  • Building B: 138 units operated by Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society 
  • Building C: 83 units operated by M’akola Housing Society 
The project is funded through a combination of government supports, including a $16.4 million federal contribution and a $122.8 million fully repayable federal loan through the Affordable Housing Fund, $19.9 million in joint federal–provincial funding under the Canada–British Columbia National Housing Strategy Bilateral Agreement, and $12.9 million in grants from the Province via BC Housing ($10.6 million for deepening affordability and $2.3 million for housing innovation). Additional contributions include provincially supported land valued at $28.5 million (gifted by Edgar Development to the Provincial Rental Housing Corporation) and a City of Port Moody development cost charges reduction exceeding $560,000.
